Our Management Team

Verus AEC’s management offers deep bench strength. This comes partly through the technical side -- the level of education and professional engineering qualifications that give you the confidence that your project is in good hands. But the technical skills are supported by the team leadership and project management skills you also need – many decades of combined experience in keeping projects moving forward smoothly.

Our leaders offer the best of both worlds – proven “hard” technical qualifications and experience, and the “soft” (but oh-so-necessary) communications and leadership experience.

Delbert Boyle

As President of Verus AEC, Del sets strategic direction and leadership. To do this, he uses his 22 years of experience in business management, project management and engineering services for EPC and EPCM projects. In an organization as lean and flat as Verus, senior leaders need to have solid technical skills and keep those skills current. So, Del uses his mechanical engineering certification and his extensive experience in control system design and programming, installation and start-up, to lead projects for clients, as well as leading Verus.

Jim Kranz

With over 17 years of experience in the automation engineering field, Jim has a particular focus on the power plant, petrochemical and biotechnology/pharmaceutical industries. His specialized experience includes control system engineering, design, installation and commissioning, field engineering, programming, construction management and validation. Other areas of expertise include cost estimates and proposals, field surveys and network administration.

Sam Vail

The food and beverage industry faces high standards regarding product safety and traceability, as well as productivity and cost control – and much of Sam’s business experience, and current focus, is on helping this sector succeed. To do this, he uses his 23 years of experience in manufacturing. One of Sam’s strengths is his breadth of experience and understanding of how all the pieces fit together – he’s held roles in operations, information technology, controls, and system integration. His experience spans a wide variety of technology -- ranging from plant floor controls to visualization to infrastructure to MES and business systems. As well as food and beverages, Sam has been responsible for project delivery in industries including wood products, mining and minerals, natural gas, and semiconductors.

Don Mewes, PE
